“Totally Fake!” NADRA Flags Viral Misleading Saraiki Videos

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Monday issued a warning regarding false videos circulating in the Saraiki language on social media. The authority said these videos are misleading and should not be trusted.

According to NADRA, the videos falsely use the name of former NADRA Chairman Usman Yousuf Mubin. They claim that citizens with ID cards bearing his signature are eligible for cash prizes. NADRA rejected these claims, describing the content as “totally fake.”

The authority stated that such videos are a malicious attempt to mislead the public. NADRA urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid sharing or believing these fraudulent schemes. The organization emphasized that no official cash reward program exists linked to Usman Yousuf Mubin’s name.

Separately, NADRA has expanded its services across Pakistan. Citizens can now access services at more than 2,000 e-Sahulat franchise locations nationwide. These centers allow people to renew their CNICs or replace lost identity cards conveniently, reducing the need to visit central offices.

Additionally, NADRA introduced a new facility through the Pak-ID mobile application, allowing citizens to apply for birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates from home. The authority released a step-by-step video guide to help users apply for divorce certificates digitally.

According to NADRA, only applicants who already hold a manual divorce certificate from the Arbitration Council or Union Council are eligible to apply for a digital certificate via the Pak-ID app. This initiative aims to simplify access to legal documents and save citizens time.

By issuing the alert and expanding digital services, NADRA reinforces its commitment to public awareness, convenience, and security. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed, verify sources, and use official channels for all services.
