KARACHI, February 18, 2026 – K-Electric, the sole power supplier to Karachi, has announced that there will be no power outages during Sahar and Iftar timings throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The utility company issued a special schedule to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during peak fasting hours. Citizens can now perform Sahar and Iftar rituals without facing no power disruptions.
According to K-Electric, the decision aims to provide convenience for residents while maintaining essential power operations across the city. The company emphasized that routine load-shedding will be managed outside these key hours.
Earlier this week, Adeeb Ahmed was appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K-Electric. His appointment was approved by the Board of Directors to strengthen leadership and oversee operational improvements in Karachi’s power sector.
Ahmed brings over 34 years of experience, including senior roles in energy, infrastructure, and investment banking across the MENA region, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan. He has previously served as CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited and as Senior Advisor to the CEO at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector in Saudi Arabia.
K-Electric officials said that under the new leadership, the company aims to improve service delivery, reduce complaints, and ensure reliable electricity supply. The special Ramadan schedule is the first step in enhancing customer satisfaction and addressing power concerns during the holy month.
Residents have welcomed the announcement, noting that uninterrupted electricity during Sahar and Iftar will make fasting and household routines more manageable. K-Electric continues to monitor power loads and reassures the public that no power cuts will be enforced during these critical hours.
