Hajj 2026 to Go Fully Digital as Paperless System Introduced

Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced plans to fully digitalize the arrangements for Hajj 2026. The move aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for pilgrims across Pakistan.

According to reports, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Information Technology. The agreement marks an important step toward implementing a complete digital system for Hajj 2026 operations.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf attended the signing ceremony. Federal Minister for Information Technology Shiza Fatima was also present at the event.

Officials said the digital system will modernize the entire process related to Hajj 2026. The initiative will replace many traditional procedures with technology-based solutions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the goal is to make the Hajj process more transparent and organized. He explained that digital systems will reduce delays and limit human errors during the application and management stages.

The minister added that modernization will also help Pakistan align with international standards for pilgrimage management. He emphasized that improved systems will benefit both pilgrims and authorities involved in Hajj 2026 preparations.

Shiza Fatima highlighted that the government plans to introduce a complete end-to-end digital solution. The new system will cover all major steps of the Hajj process.

One of the key features will be an online Hajj portal. This portal will allow applicants to submit forms and manage their information easily.

Officials said the portal will be designed with a simple and user-friendly interface. The system will help people access information and complete procedures without unnecessary complications.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs also noted that the digital platform will improve communication between different stakeholders. This includes coordination among government departments, travel operators, and pilgrims preparing for Hajj 2026.

Authorities believe the new system will also help ensure that all deadlines set by Saudi Arabia are met on time. Managing schedules and documentation through digital tools is expected to improve overall organization.

The government hopes the digital transformation will make the pilgrimage process smoother and more efficient. The changes are part of broader efforts to modernize administrative systems in Pakistan.
