Pakistan Bat First Against Bangladesh in Second ODI

DHAKA โ€“ Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first against Pakistan in the second match of the three-ODI series at Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

Pakistan made several changes to their squad, hoping to secure a victory after losing the first match. In the opening game, Bangladesh defeated the Green Shirts by eight wickets.

In the first ODI, Pakistan handed debuts to four players: Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Shamyl Hussain, and Abdul Samad. The team was bowled out for just 114 runs in 30.4 overs. Bangladesh chased the target in 15.1 overs, taking a 1-0 series lead.

Opening batters Farhan (27 off 38 balls) and Maaz (18 off 28 balls) added 41 runs for the first wicket. Faheem Ashraf provided resistance with 37 runs off 47 balls, including six fours and a six, helping Pakistan reach 114 after collapsing to 82 for nine.

Bangladeshโ€™s Nahid Rana impressed with five wickets for 24 runs, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three wickets.

During the chase, Pakistan struck early as captain Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Saif Hassan. However, Bangladesh recovered quickly, with Tanzid Hasan scoring an unbeaten 67 off 42 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes. Najmul Hossain Shanto added 27 runs as Bangladesh achieved the target for the loss of two wickets.

For Pakistan, Shaheen and Mohammad Wasim Jnr each claimed one wicket. The team now faces pressure in the final match to avoid a series sweep.
