Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will restart its direct London flights this month, ending a six-year suspension and providing convenience for Pakistanis in the UK.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that Islamabad will operate three weekly London flights, while Lahore will have one weekly service. The airline will use Boeing 777 aircraft for these routes, landing at Heathrow Airportโs Terminal 4.
The Islamabad-London flights are scheduled to begin on March 29, followed by Lahore-London flights starting March 30. Initially, PIA will operate four weekly London flights, with plans to gradually increase the frequency based on passenger demand.
PIA has a historic connection with the London route, serving it for over 70 years. The airline noted that London was one of its first international destinations. Resuming services will increase the total weekly flights to the UK to seven.
Before halting operations in 2020 due to operational challenges, PIA had been running 10 weekly London flights. The airline aims to gradually expand the number of flights as travel demand grows in the coming months.
Officials highlighted that resuming these flights is part of PIAโs broader strategy to restore key international routes and provide better connectivity for Pakistani travelers. The move is also expected to support tourism and trade between Pakistan and the UK.
Passengers are advised to book tickets early, as initial flights are expected to see high demand. PIA has also emphasized adherence to international travel protocols, including COVID-19 safety measures and customs regulations.
The resumption of London flights marks a significant milestone for PIA and reconnects one of the airlineโs most important international routes. The airline continues to focus on improving services and expanding its global network in 2026.
