The Sindh Government has announced the implementation of a watermarking system to prevent cheating in the upcoming annual examinations. The decision was made during a review meeting chaired by Ismail Rahu.
Officials confirmed that all exams will proceed as scheduled, despite ongoing challenges. Over 1,600 examination centers have been established across the province to accommodate students safely.
In Karachi, matric exams are set to start on April 7, followed by intermediate exams on April 25. In the Sukkur division, matric exams begin on March 30, with intermediate exams scheduled for April 15.
The newly introduced watermarking system will help authorities quickly detect and trace any leaked exam papers. This step aims to strengthen the integrity of examinations and ensure a fair assessment process for all students.
Alongside the watermarking initiative, a provincial-level complaint cell has been established. The cell will actively monitor exam centers and respond to any irregularities, ensuring transparency and accountability during the examination period.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, annual matric exams are already underway, with over 2.79 million candidates participating. Punjab has set up 4,092 examination centers, including 247 sensitive centers. To maintain strict supervision, CCTV cameras have been installed in 383 centers, and 45,844 supervisors have been deployed.
Education experts have welcomed the introduction of the watermarking system, highlighting that it will significantly reduce exam fraud and strengthen public trust in the examination process. They note that combining technology with on-ground monitoring ensures a safer and more reliable testing environment for students.
The Sindh government has assured students, parents, and educators that all necessary measures will be taken to conduct exams smoothly and fairly, making the watermarking system a key component of this yearโs examination security strategy.
