Islamabad Exams Postponed Amid Tight Security in Red Zone

ISLAMABAD โ€“ The FBISE Matric Exams scheduled for April 9 and 10 at selected centers in Islamabad have been postponed. The decision was made due to strict security arrangements in the Red Zone.

According to officials, the affected examination centers include Islamabad Model School for Boys, G-6/4. Both Center A and Center B at this location will not hold exams on the planned dates. In addition, exams at Islamabad Model School for Girls, Prime Minister Staff Colony, G-5 have also been delayed.

The sudden change has caused concern among students and parents. Many were fully prepared for the exams and are now waiting for further updates. Authorities have advised students to remain calm and wait for a revised schedule.

The Federal Directorate of Education issued a formal notification regarding the postponement. It stated that new dates for the FBISE Matric Exams will be announced soon. However, no exact timeline has been provided yet.

Officials explained that the decision was taken due to ongoing diplomatic activities in Islamabad. The Red Zone is currently under high security due to important international meetings. These include expected visits from United States and Iranian delegations for key discussions.

As part of the security plan, several roads have been blocked with containers. Law enforcement agencies, including Rangers and Army personnel, have been deployed across sensitive areas. Movement in and around the Red Zone remains restricted.

Due to these extraordinary measures, it became difficult to ensure smooth exam operations. Therefore, authorities decided to delay the FBISE Matric Exams at the affected centers to avoid inconvenience and ensure student safety.
