The Embassy of Pakistan in Oman has announced a revised passport fee structure for Pakistani citizens, effective from May 1, 2026. The update also introduces strict penalties for lost passports, aiming to improve document security and accountability.
Under the new system, passport fees will vary depending on validity and processing urgency. A five-year passport with 36 pages will cost 12 Omani Riyals under the normal category, while urgent processing will be charged at 19 Omani Riyals.
For those opting for longer validity, a 10-year passport with 36 pages will start from 17 Omani Riyals. Officials say the updated pricing reflects administrative adjustments and improved service delivery for overseas Pakistanis.
In addition to the revised fee structure, the embassy has enforced strict penalties for lost passports. Applicants reporting a lost passport for the first time will be required to pay double the original fee.
For repeat cases, the penalty becomes significantly higher. A second lost passport will result in a fine amounting to four times the original fee, making negligence increasingly costly for applicants.
Officials stated that these measures are designed to encourage citizens to safeguard their travel documents. Pakistani nationals living in Oman have been advised to exercise caution to avoid financial penalties under the new rules.
