ISLAMABAD: Saudi authorities have issued strict new guidelines for Hajj pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj season. The Nusuk card has been declared mandatory for all pilgrims.
Officials confirmed that without the Nusuk card, Hajj pilgrims will not be allowed to enter holy sites in Makkah and Madinah. The rule applies throughout the entire pilgrimage period.
The Nusuk card must be worn at all times. Removing or failing to display it is strictly prohibited under Saudi regulations.
Authorities warned that Hajj pilgrims who do not follow the rule may face serious consequences. These include heavy fines and possible detention at security checkpoints.
Security personnel will check Nusuk cards at multiple entry points. Anyone unable to show the card may be stopped immediately for verification.
Officials also said access to sacred sites will be denied without the card. This means Hajj pilgrims could be barred from completing their religious journey.
In severe cases, violations may lead to deportation. Some pilgrims may even be sent back before completing Hajj or Umrah rituals.
Authorities further warned that repeat or serious violations could result in future bans. This may affect later applications for Hajj or Umrah.
Officials have urged all Hajj pilgrims to follow the rules carefully. They stressed that compliance ensures a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs shared details of the 2026 Hajj quota under the government scheme. A total of 119,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj this year.
Out of these, 50,114 are female Hajj pilgrims, making up 43.5 percent of the total quota. This reflects strong female participation across Pakistan.
Karachi leads with the highest number of female pilgrims. Lahore and Islamabad also have large numbers of selected Hajj pilgrims.
Saudi authorities have also issued separate warnings on transport violations in Makkah. Heavy fines may apply to those breaking Hajj regulations during the season.
Officials have asked pilgrims and citizens to report any violations immediately. They assured that all reports will remain confidential.
