ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the export of donkey meat and hides from the Gwadar Donkey Slaughterhouse. The decision was taken during a meeting held at the Finance Division.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. Officials confirmed that the ECC reviewed several financial and administrative proposals during the session.
A key decision involved the approval of export arrangements for donkey meat and hides. The committee allowed the export process under existing rules and regulations. Officials said the move aims to support regulated trade activity.
The ECC also discussed the management and disposal of existing stock at the Gwadar facility. The proposal related to donkey products was approved after review of export protocols and compliance requirements.
In addition to the donkey export decision, the ECC approved multiple Technical Supplementary Grants. These included funds for different government departments and national initiatives.
Rs 100 million was approved for the Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority. The funds will support renovation and operational work. Another Rs 311 million was allocated for the Government of Balochistan. This package supports incentives for civil officers serving in the province.
The committee also approved Rs 372 million for the National Accountability Bureau. These funds will support digital transformation and AI-based systems. Officials said this step will improve efficiency in investigations and record management.
A separate grant of Rs 30 million was approved for the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. The amount will be used to reward the national hockey team after their qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup.
During the meeting, other summaries were also reviewed, including matters related to the Power Division. The ECC referred some issues to the relevant cabinet committee for further consideration.
The approval of donkey meat and hide exports from Gwadar remains one of the key decisions of the session. Authorities said the process will follow all required export and regulatory standards.
