Authorities investigate abuse claims linked to Epstein ranch in New Mexico

SANTA FE, New Mexico: Authorities in Mexico and surrounding regions are reviewing serious allegations linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch compound in the U.S. state of New Mexico. Officials are working to identify how many local women and girls may have been abused there.

Investigators say multiple individuals have claimed they were flown to the ranch and abused by Epstein and his associates. So far, only one victim from Mexico has been publicly identified in earlier reports, a former massage therapist from Santa Fe.

New Mexico Representative Marianna Anaya confirmed that the state’s Truth Commission has been contacted by several local residents. These individuals claim they were victims of abuse at the ranch. The inquiry continues to expand as more people come forward in Mexico.

The Truth Commission is working with the New Mexico Department of Justice. The goal is to support survivors and identify cases that may lead to criminal charges against possible co-conspirators. Officials say this is an ongoing investigation in Mexico.

Authorities reopened the investigation in February. This followed the release of millions of documents by the U.S. Department of Justice related to Epstein. Among the files was an email alleging serious crimes at the ranch.

The email reportedly claimed that two girls were buried near the property. These claims are still being verified by investigators in Mexico and U.S. federal agencies.

Support services in Santa Fe have also reported increased contact from survivors. A local sexual assault support center said dozens of people reached out in 2019. Many sought information and counseling related to alleged abuse at the ranch in Mexico.

Experts estimate that a significant portion of those individuals said they were victims. However, no formal police complaints were filed at that time.

Authorities note that underreporting remains a major issue in sexual assault cases. National data shows that only about 24% of such crimes were reported in 2024.
