Pakistani Rupee Extends Winning Streak Against US Dollar but Weakens Against Other Currencies

The Rupee showed mixed performance in the latest trading session. It continued its positive run against the US Dollar. However, it declined against several major global currencies.

The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) closed at 278.72 against the US Dollar. It gained three paisas during Wednesdayโ€™s session. This marks the 154th consecutive day of gains against the USD.

Despite this improvement, the Rupee faced pressure in other currency markets. It remained mostly stable against the UAE Dirham. It also gained two paisas against the Saudi Riyal.

Market data shows the Rupee lost value against major currencies. It dropped Rs. 1.59 against the British Pound. It also fell Rs. 1.25 against the Euro during the day.

The Rupee further weakened against the Australian Dollar. It recorded a loss of Rs. 2.35. Against the Canadian Dollar, it slipped by 31 paisas.

Currency experts say the mixed trend reflects global market pressure. External demand and international exchange movements continue to affect the Rupee.

Below is the latest movement summary of major currencies:

The Euro rose to 327.16, showing pressure on the Rupee. The British Pound also strengthened to 379.04. This added further strain on local currency performance.

The Australian Dollar and Canadian Dollar also gained slightly. These changes contributed to the overall decline of the Rupee against major economies.

However, stability against Gulf currencies provided some support. The Rupee held steady against the UAE Dirham and Saudi Riyal. This helped limit overall losses in regional trade.

Financial analysts say the Rupee trend remains sensitive. It depends on import demand, foreign reserves, and global economic conditions. Small daily fluctuations are expected in such conditions.
