Heavy rainfall, strong winds and hailstorms affected several regions of Pakistan, causing fatalities, injuries and widespread damage to infrastructure. The severe weather impacted parts of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
According to reports, at least three people lost their lives while seven others were injured in weather-related incidents. In a village near Kandhkot, a person was killed after being struck by lightning. Three others were injured in the same incident.
In Rojhan, strong winds uprooted solar panels, leading to the deaths of two people. Another person suffered injuries during the incident. Sadiqabad also faced severe weather conditions. Powerful winds and heavy rain brought down trees, signboards, walls and electricity poles. Three people were injured due to the damage.
Several cities across Pakistan received rainfall that helped reduce the intense summer heat. Sukkur experienced strong winds, rain and hail, bringing cooler temperatures to the area. Similar conditions were reported in Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Thul and Garhi Khairo, where dust storms and windstorms caused signboards and solar panels to collapse.
Shahdadkot and nearby areas received rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. Large hailstones, some reported to be the size of eggs, fell in Qubo Saeed Khan. Rainfall with gusty winds was also recorded in Mehar and surrounding localities. In Nasirabad and Dera Murad Jamali, rain and hailstorms improved weather conditions significantly.
In Azad Jammu & Kashmir, heavy rainfall was reported in Mirpur, Mangla and Islamgarh. Abbottabad, Nathia Gali, Ayubia, Thandiani and the Galiyat region also received substantial rainfall.
The severe weather caused major disruptions in Sukkur. Communication networks and utility services were affected by torrential rain. Electricity remained unavailable in several areas even six hours after the rainfall ended. Reports indicated that 46 grid stations within the SEPCO region were impacted.
Power outages occurred after multiple transmission circuits tripped due to storm-related damage. A SEPCO spokesperson said towers, utility poles and transmission lines suffered extensive damage. Restoration teams are currently working to restore electricity supply as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, rainfall continues in various parts of Pakistan. Rawalpindi received rain that provided relief from the ongoing heatwave, with more showers expected. Lahore recorded light rain and thunderstorms, while Faisalabad experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm activity. Weather authorities expect additional rainfall in several regions over the coming days.
