QUETTA โ The Balochistan government has decided to send acid attack victim Dr Mahnoor Nasir abroad for further medical treatment.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Shahid Rind, confirmed that arrangements are being made to send Dr Mahnoor to the United States for advanced medical care.
He said the provincial government has started the required process for her international treatment. Officials are working on completing the necessary formalities for her transfer.
According to authorities, Dr Mahnoorโs treatment will continue at a private hospital in Karachi for another week. After that, she will be shifted abroad for further medical assistance.
Dr Mahnoor was attacked in a tragic incident at Sandeman Hospital in Quetta. According to officials, a man allegedly entered the General Surgery Unit and threw acid at her.
The attack caused serious injuries and raised concerns among medical professionals and the public. The suspect involved in the incident later died during an alleged police encounter.
A hospital ward boy, Abdul Razzaq Turkai, was also injured while attempting to protect Dr Mahnoor during the attack. He suffered serious injuries and remained under treatment in Quetta.
Following the incident, Dr Mahnoor was moved to Karachi for specialized medical care. Doctors have continued monitoring her condition and providing necessary treatment.
The decision to send Dr Mahnoor abroad was taken after reviewing her medical needs. Authorities said the aim is to provide her with the best possible treatment and recovery support.
The Balochistan government has assured that all required assistance will be provided during her treatment process. Officials said they are taking steps to ensure a smooth transfer abroad.
The incident has received widespread attention, with many people expressing support for Dr Mahnoor and demanding action against violence.
