Foodpanda rider in Pakistan has raised concerns about rider compensation after a delivery order was cancelled. The rider claims he received only Rs14 despite completing most of the delivery process and travelling a considerable distance.
According to the rider, the order required him to travel to the restaurant, wait for the food to be prepared, and then head toward the customer’s location. However, the order was cancelled before it could be successfully delivered.
The rider said he then had to follow the required cancellation procedure. This included returning the food and completing additional steps directed by the platform. In total, he estimates that he travelled between 8 and 10 kilometers during the entire process.
Despite the time and distance involved, the rider claims that Foodpanda paid him only Rs14 as compensation for the cancelled order. He argued that the amount was far too low and did not even cover the fuel expenses incurred during the trip.
The incident has sparked discussion about rider earnings and compensation policies in the food delivery industry. Delivery riders often depend on each order to cover fuel costs, vehicle maintenance, and daily living expenses. When orders are cancelled, riders may still spend time and resources completing the assigned task.
The rider described the compensation as unfair and called for a review of current payment practices. He believes riders should receive a reasonable amount when cancellations occur after significant travel or waiting time.
The case has also highlighted broader concerns regarding how delivery platforms handle cancelled orders. Riders have previously raised questions about earnings, incentives, and operational costs. Many argue that compensation should better reflect the effort required to complete delivery-related tasks.
Foodpanda remains one of Pakistan’s largest food delivery platforms, with thousands of riders working across major cities. As discussions continue, the latest complaint has drawn attention to the challenges faced by delivery workers and the importance of transparent compensation policies.
