Sindh Government to Cover Medical Costs After Karachi Imambargah Incident

The Sindh government has announced financial support for victims injured in the recent Karachi Imambargah incident. The decision comes after a tragic accident during a Muharram gathering in Karachiโ€™s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The incident happened on Sunday outside Masjid-o-Imambargah Baqiatullah. A speeding vehicle crashed into a group of mourners attending a majlis. The Karachi Imambargah accident left one teenage girl dead and injured more than a dozen people.

Officials said the injured included women and children. Several of them remain in critical condition.

Following the incident, the Sindh Health Department issued orders to two private hospitals. Aga Khan University Hospital and South City Hospital were directed to provide immediate treatment to the seriously injured victims.

The government said all treatment expenses will be covered. Hospitals have been instructed to send bills and medical vouchers for reimbursement.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho said the government would ensure proper medical care for all injured individuals. She said no delay would be allowed in providing treatment.

She added that every possible medical facility would be used to save the lives of the victims. The government also promised full support to affected families.

The Karachi Imambargah tragedy has raised serious concerns over security arrangements during Muharram gatherings. Authorities are now reviewing the incident closely.

Police have launched an investigation into the case. A terrorism case has been registered against the driver and three other people who were in the vehicle.

According to investigators, the vehicle reportedly broke through security barriers before entering the gathering area. Officials believe the act may have been deliberate.

The case has now been handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Investigators are reviewing all evidence, including videos shared on social media.
