The Punjab government has taken a major step for wildlife protection. Punjab Launches Pakistan’s first mobile wildlife clinic to help injured and sick animals across the province. This new service will provide treatment and rescue support directly at the location where animals are found.
The mobile wildlife clinic is based at the Lahore Safari Zoo. It has modern medical equipment to handle emergency animal care. The vehicle includes portable X-ray machines, Doppler ultrasound, ECG machines, vital sign monitors, and oxygen concentrators. It also has laboratory facilities and tools for minor surgeries.
Officials said the clinic can perform basic blood tests and other important diagnostic procedures on-site. This will save time and improve the chances of survival for injured animals.
Veterinary Services Director, Dr. Rizwan Khan, said transporting wild animals to hospitals can be difficult. He explained that moving animals often causes stress and can worsen their condition.
He added that the mobile clinic allows veterinary teams to check, diagnose, and provide early treatment at the exact rescue location. This will make the rescue process faster and safer.
Punjab Launches this project with a focus on reaching remote areas. According to officials, most equipment in the vehicle is portable and rechargeable. This makes it useful in deserts, mountains, and other difficult areas.
The clinic also has a solar power system and a backup generator. This ensures a steady power supply during field operations.
Dr. Rizwan said the vehicle includes a modern dart gun. This equipment helps experts safely sedate wild animals from a distance when needed. Portable X-ray and ultrasound systems will also support quick diagnosis.
Officials confirmed that this is the first mobile wildlife clinic in Pakistan. Punjab Launches this initiative to improve animal welfare in zoos, safari parks, wildlife centers, and rescue operations across the province.

The new clinic will also support the recently established Wildlife Rescue Center and hospital. This center is already providing advanced treatment and surgery for injured animals.
