Six Family Members with U.S. Visas Die in Saifullah Lake Boat Tragedy in Swat

A family trip meant to celebrate a new chapter in life ended in tragedy after a deadly boat accident at Saifullah Lake in Kalam, Swat. Six members of the same family lost their lives after their boat capsized during what was supposed to be a peaceful holiday.

According to available information, the victims had recently received their U.S. visas and were preparing for a new future abroad. Before traveling to the United States, the family reportedly completed their visa process in Islamabad and then decided to spend time together in Swat.

The victims included retired Colonel Amir Awandal, his 20-year-old son Abdullah, and his daughters Parva Awandal, 27, and Rawal Awandal, 23. Also among those who lost their lives were Parva’s one-year-old son and five-year-old daughter.

The tragic accident occurred at Saifullah Lake, a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beauty. What began as a family outing quickly turned into a heartbreaking disaster when the boat overturned in the lake.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene soon after the incident was reported. Emergency responders launched an operation to recover the victims and search for anyone still missing. Authorities worked for several hours in difficult conditions.

Search efforts also continued for 24-year-old Bushra Samoi, who was reported missing after the accident. Bushra had recently returned to Pakistan after completing her university degree in the United States. Rescue officials continued their efforts in the hope of locating her.

The incident at Saifullah Lake has shocked people across Pakistan. Many have expressed grief over the loss of an entire family that was looking forward to starting a new life overseas. The tragedy has also spread widely on social media, where users have shared messages of sympathy and prayers for the victims.

The accident has once again raised serious concerns about tourist safety at lakes and other recreational sites. Many people are calling for stricter boating regulations, better emergency planning, and improved safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Experts say that popular tourist destinations should have trained rescue staff, safety equipment, and clear operating procedures for boats. Visitors should also be provided with life jackets and safety instructions before boarding.

Officials are expected to review the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine what caused the boat to capsize. The findings may help authorities strengthen safety standards at Saifullah Lake and other tourist attractions across the country.

The heartbreaking loss of six family members has left relatives, friends, and the wider community in mourning. Many have offered prayers for the deceased and support for the grieving family.
