The number of men reporting Workplace Harassment in Pakistan has increased, according to official data released by the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment. The latest figures show that men are increasingly using official channels to report harassment at work.
According to the official records, a total of 1,290 harassment complaints were filed during the year. These complaints came from both men and women across different regions of Pakistan. Out of the total cases, 1,104 were disposed of by the Federal Ombudsperson, showing continued efforts to address reported incidents.
Women remained the largest group of complainants. A total of 769 women filed complaints during the year. However, 521 men also approached the ombudsperson, making up around 40 percent of all reported cases. The data highlights that Workplace Harassment affects employees regardless of gender.
Islamabad recorded the highest number of complaints from both men and women. The Federal Ombudsperson’s head office received the largest share of reports, followed by Punjab, which ranked second in the country.
Among male complainants, Islamabad reported the highest number of cases. Punjab followed with the second-highest total. In other regions, 42 men from Peshawar submitted complaints regarding workplace issues. Karachi recorded 24 male complaints, while two cases were reported from Balochistan.
The data also showed a higher number of complaints from women. Islamabad recorded 496 complaints from female employees during the same period. Punjab reported 154 complaints filed by women, making it the second-largest contributor after the federal capital.
The latest figures indicate that more employees are becoming aware of the available legal mechanisms for reporting harassment. While women continue to represent the majority of complainants, the growing number of men seeking legal support reflects a broader willingness to report misconduct in professional environments.
The Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment handles complaints related to harassment in workplaces across Pakistan. The office is responsible for investigating cases and providing legal remedies under the country’s harassment laws.
Officials believe the disposal of more than 1,100 cases demonstrates ongoing efforts to improve access to justice for employees. The figures also suggest that awareness about reporting Workplace Harassment has increased among workers in both the public and private sectors.
