One of the Multiple Blasts was reported near the hotel used by the French president during his visit. Other explosions occurred close to Syria’s Ministry of Tourism in the same area.

Security forces quickly responded to the incident. Roads surrounding the affected area were sealed as emergency teams were deployed to the scene.
Syrian authorities confirmed that the explosions caused casualties. However, officials have not yet announced the number of people killed or injured.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far. Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the explosions and identify those responsible.

According to the รlysรฉe Palace, the explosions were not heard by the presidential motorcade. Journalists travelling with the French delegation also reported no disruption to the president’s official programme.
Despite the security incident, Macron continued with his planned diplomatic engagements. He later met Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the Presidential Palace.
Syrian state television confirmed that the meeting between the two leaders took place as scheduled. There was no announcement of any changes to the official visit following the explosions.
Macron’s trip is considered historically significant. He became the first leader from the European Union to visit Syria since the removal of Bashar al-Assad and the establishment of the country’s new leadership.
Syria continues to face security challenges after years of civil conflict. The prolonged war allowed militant groups, including Islamic State, to establish a presence in different parts of the country.
Since taking office, President Ahmed al-Sharaa has pledged to build an inclusive political system. His administration has promised reforms following the end of more than five decades of Assad family rule.
The Multiple Blasts during Macron’s visit underline the fragile security environment that still exists in Syria. Authorities continue to investigate the attacks while maintaining heightened security measures across the capital. The incidents have drawn international attention as Syria seeks greater diplomatic engagement under its new leadership.
