Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has instructed the newly formed Gilgit-Baltistan government to prepare a comprehensive 100-day development plan focused on public welfare and effective governance.
The directive was issued during a meeting of the PPP Gilgit-Baltistan chapter held at the Chief Minister House in Gilgit. The meeting was chaired by Bilawal Bhutto and attended by Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate, senior party leaders, and office-bearers.
During the session, party representatives briefed the PPP chairman on preparations for upcoming elections. They also shared recommendations aimed at improving administrative performance and strengthening governance across Gilgit-Baltistan.
Bilawal Bhutto emphasized that public service should remain the government’s highest priority. He urged party leaders and elected representatives to stay connected with the people instead of working from closed offices.
He said government officials should regularly visit communities, listen to public concerns, and resolve problems quickly. According to him, direct engagement with citizens is essential for effective governance and long-term development.
The PPP chairman directed the provincial leadership to prepare a detailed 100-day plan covering development, public welfare, and administrative reforms. He also instructed the government to submit a performance report after the completion of the 100-day period.
According to Bilawal, the report should clearly outline the progress made on development projects and demonstrate how the government has addressed the needs of local residents.
The meeting also discussed legal and constitutional matters. Bilawal instructed officials to ensure the effective implementation of legislation related to property rights in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He further directed that a resolution concerning the region’s sovereignty should be presented during the first session of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. The move is intended to address important constitutional and political matters affecting the region.
The PPP chairman also called for immediate preparations to hold local government elections. He stressed that completing the required groundwork should remain a priority for the new administration.
In addition, Bilawal encouraged party workers to strengthen their relationship with the public. He said stronger public engagement would help the party better understand local issues and improve service delivery.
The meeting concluded with discussions on the future direction of the provincial government. Party leaders reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the chairman’s instructions and promoting development throughout Gilgit-Baltistan.
The 100-day development plan is expected to focus on improving public services, strengthening governance, and addressing the daily challenges faced by residents. Government officials are also expected to monitor progress closely and evaluate the implementation of key initiatives.
