Sindh to Launch Youth Card for 100,000 Young People

KARACHI โ€“ The Sindh government has finalized plans to introduce the Youth Card, a new initiative aimed at providing educational, financial, and employment-related support to young people across the province. The program is expected to benefit thousands of eligible applicants during its first phase.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will officially inaugurate the initiative in the last week of August. The provincial government says the program has been designed to expand opportunities for youth and improve access to education and employment.

Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar said the Youth Card is being launched on the special directives of the PPP chairman. He said the initiative will help improve access to higher education, skills development, and career opportunities.

During the first phase, the government plans to issue the card to 100,000 young people across all 30 districts of Sindh. Applicants between the ages of 15 and 29 will be eligible to apply for the program.

According to officials, cardholders will receive access to a wide range of benefits. These include university scholarships, opportunities for higher education in Pakistan and abroad, and professional skills training programs.

The Youth Card will also provide interest-free loans and financial assistance to eligible participants. Authorities believe these measures will help young people become financially independent and improve their future career prospects.

In addition to educational and financial support, the program will offer discounts on local public transport and railway travel. Cardholders will also receive preferential access to selected public and private sector services.

Officials said the initiative is intended to support young people who previously had limited access to government assistance. The program aims to create equal opportunities by improving access to education, training, and employment resources.

The registration process for the Youth Card will be conducted entirely online. Applicants will be able to complete the process through a simple digital application system once registrations officially open.

The Sindh government has clarified that only individuals holding a valid Sindh domicile will be eligible to apply. Authorities have advised interested candidates to wait for the official registration announcement before submitting applications.

Officials also confirmed that the card will be issued through Jazz Bank. Further details regarding the registration process, eligibility verification, and application schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

The provincial government believes the initiative will strengthen youth development by providing practical support in education, employment, and financial inclusion. By combining scholarships, loans, skills training, and travel discounts, the Youth Card is expected to become one of Sindh’s major youth welfare programs.
