WASHINGTON/RIYADH: US President Donald Trump has said the war against Iran could end “pretty soon.”
Trump expressed confidence that Iran would not be able to continue the conflict for much longer. He made the comments while speaking to reporters about global and US energy prices.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf appeared to address Trump’s approach to the conflict. He said the United States had first threatened major attacks before later seeking negotiations.

Separately, Saudi Arabia reported injuries following attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement. The Saudi military said 11 civilians were injured in the southern Najran region.
A four-year-old child was among those reportedly hurt in the attacks. Najran is located near Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen.
The attacks came hours after the Houthis claimed responsibility for strikes inside Yemen. Yemeni officials said those attacks killed at least 30 government troops.
At least 50 others were reportedly wounded in the strikes, according to Yemeni officials. The attacks targeted camps belonging to forces supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
The camps were located in the provinces of Marib and Hadramout. A Houthi leader claimed hundreds of people were killed or injured.
