The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans for a long march towards Islamabad. The march is scheduled for September 27.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi made the announcement during a PTI street movement. He was speaking to participants at Abu Bakr Siddiq Chowk in Hangu.
Afridi claimed that the upcoming mobilisation could attract up to four million people. He said the turnout would be much larger than previous expectations.
According to Afridi, the march will move towards the federal capital on September 27. He said the party expects significant public participation.
The PTI announces the planned mobilisation amid continuing political tensions. The chief minister linked the move to concerns surrounding Imran Khan’s medical treatment.
Afridi alleged that authorities had not implemented a court decision regarding the treatment of the PTI founder. He claimed that a three-member bench had issued directions on the matter.
The KP chief minister questioned the equal application of law. He argued that court orders should be followed regardless of the person involved.
Afridi also compared the treatment of Imran Khan’s case with other legal matters. He claimed orders against him are implemented quickly by state institutions.
He alleged that directions concerning Imran Khan’s treatment remained unimplemented. He said sufficient time had already been provided by the courts.
The chief minister called for equal justice for all citizens. He argued that powerful individuals should also remain accountable under the law.
Afridi also raised concerns about the treatment of PTI women. He claimed Imran Khan’s sisters faced humiliation during recent developments.
He further alleged that female PTI workers were facing pressure and coercion. These claims were presented as part of his criticism of the government.
The PTI announces the September 27 march while continuing its political campaign. Afridi expressed support for Imran Khan and his family during his address.
He said the former prime minister’s โHaqeeqi Azadiโ movement focused on equal justice. Afridi also connected the movement with broader concerns about the rule of law.
The KP chief minister also discussed the country’s economic situation. He claimed that farmers were facing difficulties under current economic conditions.
He further alleged that some industrialists were moving their capital abroad. Afridi said national institutions should consider the country’s future direction.
The chief minister also urged young people to become more politically active. He asked them to participate in decisions affecting their future.
The PTI announces the planned long march as political tensions remain high. The September 27 mobilisation could become a major political gathering.
Afridi also said he would not support state institutions protecting powerful groups. He stressed that the law should apply equally to everyone.
