India's ISRO Readies for Solar Mission Aditya-L1 Launch Next Month

Following the successful achievement of placing a lander on the unexplored southern pole of the moon, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for its next space venture.

On Saturday, ISRO announced that India’s inaugural solar mission, Aditya-L1, is set to launch on September 2.

Aditya-L1 is a significant milestone as it will be India’s first space-based observatory designed for studying the sun. This announcement came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed ISRO scientists at their headquarters in Bengaluru.

Nilesh M Desai, a prominent space scientist and the director of the Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, revealed that the preparations for the Aditya-L1 mission, focused on solar research, have been successfully completed. He also hinted at the possibility of the spacecraft’s launch occurring on September 2.
