KARACHI: The Gold price in Pakistan dropped sharply on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The decline followed a fall in international bullion prices. Investors were monitoring geopolitical developments and US interest rate expectations.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, 24-karat gold fell by Rs4,000 per tola.

The price reached Rs449,336 per tola after the latest decline.

The rate of 24-karat gold also decreased by Rs3,429 per 10 grams. It stood at Rs385,233 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, 22-karat gold fell by Rs3,143 per 10 grams. Its new price reached Rs353,143.

International Gold Prices Decline

Gold prices also recorded a significant decline in international markets.

According to the association, international gold fell by $40 per ounce. The price stood at $4,268 per ounce.

Market participants continued to monitor developments in the Middle East. They were also assessing new US inflation data.

The data could provide clues about the Federal Reserve’s future interest rate decisions.

Expectations of a US rate hike strengthened after recent inflation figures. Rising oil prices also added to inflation concerns.

The US dollar gained strength and reached a more than one-week high. A stronger dollar usually puts pressure on dollar-priced gold.

Gold becomes more expensive for buyers holding other currencies when the dollar strengthens.

Why Gold Prices Are Falling

Gold is commonly considered a safe-haven investment. Investors often turn to the metal during economic and geopolitical uncertainty.

However, higher interest rates can reduce demand for gold. The precious metal does not provide regular interest income.

Higher rates increase the opportunity cost of holding gold. This can make other interest-bearing investments more attractive.

Recent US inflation data increased expectations of tighter monetary policy.

US consumer prices increased faster than expected in August. A key measure of underlying inflation also recorded its biggest rise in four months.

The figures strengthened expectations for higher interest rates.

UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo said markets were fully pricing in a Federal Reserve rate hike. He also noted that rising oil prices could increase inflation concerns.

These developments have created additional pressure on bullion prices.

Silver Prices Remain Stable

Unlike gold, domestic silver prices remained unchanged on Tuesday.

Silver was priced at Rs6,802 per tola in Pakistan. The price of 10 grams remained at Rs5,831.

International silver prices also remained mostly stable. The metal traded at around $63.23 per ounce.

Market participants are expected to continue watching US monetary policy. They will also monitor currency movements and geopolitical developments.

These factors could influence the Gold price in both international and domestic markets.
