PESHAWAR: PTI leader Shaukat Yousufzai has announced a key meeting ahead of the party’s planned long march.

He said the meeting will discuss the protest strategy. The party will issue its plan after the meeting, he told ARY News.

Yousufzai said the PTI protest would remain peaceful. He also said party workers had received clear instructions.

According to him, workers have been told not to throw stones. They have also been directed to avoid slingshots and sticks.

The PTI leader said government machinery would not be used during the protest. He said workers would sit peacefully if they faced a hurdle.

Yousufzai also questioned the government’s decision to close large parts of Islamabad. He said the party was surprised by the restrictions.

He further alleged that the federal government had violated court orders. These remarks represent his position regarding the government’s security measures.

The Islamabad administration has imposed restrictions ahead of the planned protest. Section 144 has been enforced in the federal capital.

Authorities have also announced closures on several major routes. These include sections of the M-1, M-14 and GT Road.

Mobile phone and internet services are also scheduled for suspension. The measures are planned for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Attock.

The restrictions come ahead of the expected September 27 protest. The PTI has announced a long march towards Islamabad.

The Islamabad High Court has also issued directions regarding the proposed march. The court said peaceful assembly remains subject to reasonable legal restrictions.

The court also directed authorities to prevent government resources from facilitating the march.

Yousufzai said political movements could not be suppressed through force. He urged the government to engage with the party through dialogue.

He also called for PTI representatives to receive access to the party’s founder.

The government has separately said it invited PTI leadership for talks. Adviser Rana Sanaullah said the invitation had not received a positive response.

The developments come amid increasing preparations for the planned protest. Both sides have presented different positions about the march and negotiations.
