The federal government has reduced the Petrol Price in Pakistan by Rs3.93 per litre. The new rate stands at Rs386.30, providing some relief to motorists. However, petrol prices remain close to the Rs400 mark.

The revised rates will take effect on October 17, 2026. They will remain in place until October 19, according to the Petroleum Division. The temporary reduction covers the weekend and offers consumers a short period of lower petrol costs.

Meanwhile, high-speed diesel prices will remain unchanged at Rs396.96 per litre. The decision means diesel consumers will not receive any immediate relief from the latest adjustment. Diesel prices had increased slightly during the previous revision.

Earlier on Wednesday, the government reduced petrol prices by Rs3.63 per litre. This brought the rate down to Rs390.23 per litre. At the same time, high-speed diesel became more expensive by Rs0.31 per litre. Its price reached Rs396.96 per litre and remains at that level under the latest announcement.

The latest Petrol Price reduction follows these earlier adjustments. It continues a series of changes influenced by developments in international energy markets. However, the impact on consumers will depend on future fuel price decisions and global oil market conditions.

International crude oil prices remained relatively stable on Friday. However, oil prices were heading towards weekly gains amid concerns about supplies from the Middle East. Expectations surrounding regional supply disruptions continued to influence market sentiment.

Another factor supporting oil prices was a larger-than-expected decline in US crude inventories. Lower inventories can indicate tighter supply conditions, which may put upward pressure on international oil prices. These developments have kept energy markets uncertain.

Pakistan adjusts domestic petroleum prices in response to several factors, including international oil prices and other relevant costs. Changes in global markets can influence the cost of importing fuel into the country.

For motorists, the latest reduction offers limited financial relief during the weekend. Petrol users will pay Rs386.30 per litre under the revised rate, while diesel consumers will continue paying Rs396.96 per litre. The next official announcement will determine whether these rates change after October 19, 2026.
