KARACHI: Engro Fertilizer has reportedly increased its urea price by Rs50 per bag, raising the dealer transfer price to Rs4,585.

The latest price adjustment was reported by JS Research on November 6, 2026, following market channel checks.

The increase comes as farmers across Pakistan face higher fertilizer costs during the ongoing Rabi cultivation season.

According to the report, the revised price reflects the company’s continued firm pricing approach in the domestic fertilizer market.

However, the latest adjustment was identified through market checks rather than an official company announcement.

Engro Fertilizer Raises Urea Price to Rs4,585

Engro Fertilizers Limited, listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange under EFERT, has reportedly increased its urea dealer transfer price.

The new price stands at Rs4,585 per bag, compared with the previous rate of Rs4,535.

Muhammad Waqas Ghani, CFA, of JS Research shared the development based on information collected from market channels.

The reported increase follows an earlier price adjustment announced in March 2026.

During that period, the company raised its urea price by Rs150 per bag.

The latest increase indicates that urea prices remain elevated despite changes in market demand and fertilizer inventories.

However, the dealer transfer price does not necessarily represent the final amount paid by farmers.

Retail prices may vary depending on transportation expenses, dealer margins, and local market conditions.

Company Maintains Firm Pricing Policy

Engro Fertilizer has maintained a relatively firm pricing strategy throughout 2026.

In August, company management indicated that it had no plans to reduce urea prices or restore previous discounts.

The position came despite reports of higher fertilizer inventories in the domestic market.

Management expected stronger seasonal demand to help reduce available stocks without lowering the company’s price premium.

The latest reported increase appears consistent with that earlier pricing position.

However, the company has not issued a formal circular confirming the November price adjustment in the cited report.

Higher Urea Prices Could Affect Farmers

The latest price increase comes during the Rabi season, when farmers prepare and cultivate important winter crops.

Wheat is among the major crops requiring fertilizer during this period.

Urea provides nitrogen, an essential nutrient that supports plant growth and crop development.

According to market reports, urea retail prices currently range between Rs4,400 and Rs4,750 per 50-kilogram bag.

These prices vary across major fertilizer brands and different agricultural markets.

A higher dealer transfer price could eventually influence retail prices as distributors update their quotations.

Consequently, farmers purchasing Engro urea may face additional cultivation expenses.

The actual impact will depend on local supply conditions and the prices charged by retailers.

Fertilizer Market Faces Continued Price Pressure

Pakistan’s agricultural sector depends heavily on fertilizers to support crop production and maintain soil nutrients.

Changes in fertilizer prices can influence farmers’ production costs, particularly during major planting seasons.

The latest reported increase could add to financial pressure on farmers already managing other agricultural expenses.

However, the Rs50 adjustment applies to the reported dealer transfer price, not necessarily every retail transaction.

Market participants will continue monitoring fertilizer prices and demand throughout the Rabi season.

For now, the reported Engro urea dealer transfer price stands at Rs4,585 per bag.
