Pakistan and China Commit to Sustainable Growth in CPEC Corridor

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing.

During the meeting, the two leaders stressed the steady pace of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and vowed to make it a corridor of sustainable growth. They discussed making CPEC a corridor of growth, livelihood, innovation, openness, and green development in line with Pakistan’s vision for sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.

Both leaders reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China and discussed strengthening high-level dialogue and exchanges. They also discussed regional and global developments and expressed commonality of views on major world issues.

President Xi accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan, and PM Kakar congratulated Xi on the success of the Third Belt and Road Forum and the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
