Responding to allegations made by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister regarding supposed US intentions to establish military bases in Pakistan, Miller dismissed these claims as baseless. He affirmed the US commitment to supporting democratic expression and fostering a robust democratic system in Pakistan.

Emphasizing the importance of elections in Pakistan being conducted freely, fairly, and peacefully, Miller advocated for fundamental democratic principles such as freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, association, and a transparent democratic process.

The State Department’s spokesperson’s remarks reiterate the United States’ adherence to democratic values and principles, reinforcing the country’s commitment to supporting democratic processes globally. The emphasis on free and fair elections aligns with the broader diplomatic stance of promoting democratic governance and upholding the rights of citizens to express their political will through legitimate electoral processes.
