The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its intention to challenge the results of the February 8 elections in the Supreme Court, as stated by the party’s founder Imran Khan during an informal conversation with the media in Adiala jail.
The PTI has demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, accusing him of dereliction of his constitutional and legal duties and alleging his role as a facilitator in what the party terms as ‘poll fraud’. Additionally, the PTI called for the resignation of all members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), accusing them of colluding to strip PTI-backed candidates of their electoral mandate.
Imran Khan dismissed any possibility of forming an alliance with the PML-N, PPP, or MQM-P and instructed the PTI Secretary Information to gather all political parties except these three to raise their voice against the alleged rigging.

Regarding the nomination for the next prime minister of Pakistan, Imran stated that no decision has been made yet and it will be considered later. However, he nominated Ali Amin Gandapur for the position of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Imran emphasized that the alleged rigged elections would have negative effects on the economy and the country’s stability, asserting that free and fair polls are the only solution to the current circumstances.
Former foreign minister and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi echoed similar sentiments, stating that even international media is questioning the legitimacy of the recent elections and calling them rigged. He urged the Chief Justice to take notice and emphasized the need for political parties whose mandate was allegedly stolen to unite.
This demand for the resignation of the CEC and members of the ECP is not new, as Imran Khan has previously called for Raja’s resignation multiple times, alleging collusion with the PML-N. The PTI spokesperson reiterated the party’s stance, accusing the CEC and ECP members of failing in their constitutional and legal duties and facilitating what they term as a ‘daylight robbery on public mandate’.
