The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) demonstrated proactive measures to address complaints of overcharging by transporters during Eid-ul-Fitr, returning more than Rs. 3.9 million to affected passengers and imposing fines on 6,935 public service vehicles for overcharging and overloading.
Under the leadership of Inspector General Salman Chaudhry, NH&MP took swift action to rectify instances of overcharging, ensuring that passengers were not unfairly burdened during their travels. A total fine of over Rs. 11 million was imposed on vehicles found guilty of these violations, indicating the seriousness with which NH&MP tackles such issues.

NH&MP’s commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of commuters during Eid-ul-Fitr was evident through the deployment of additional officers and special squads at various points across the national highways. This proactive approach, coupled with the prompt resolution of passenger complaints at toll plazas, contributed to a smooth and hassle-free travel experience for Eid travelers.
