The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted extremely hot weather for most plain areas of the country on Thursday. The PMD has urged the public to take necessary precautions due to the anticipated increase in day temperatures, which are expected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius above normal.
The prevailing synoptic situation indicates that continental air is dominant over most regions of the country. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is expected to enter the upper parts of the country from tomorrow. Most areas are likely to experience hot and dry weather, with particularly intense heat in the central and southern regions. However, isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and upper Punjab may see partly cloudy conditions with windstorms, thunderstorms, or rain.

In the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced hot and dry conditions, with very hot weather in the southern and central regions. Light rain or drizzle was reported at isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The highest temperatures recorded were 48°C in Jacobabad, Sibbi, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Sargodha, Okara, Kasur, Kot Addu registered 47°C, while Bannu, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Rahimyar Khan, Khanpur, Rohri, Mohenjo Daro, and Khairpur recorded 46°C.
