Streamer Norme sets 264-hour no-sleep record on Rumble

Streamer Norme has made headlines by breaking the Guinness World Record for staying awake, achieving an impressive 264 hours and 56 minutes during a live stream on Rumble. The attempt, which drew significant attention, faced numerous platform bans and sparked concerns for Norme’s health, leading to calls from police and emergency services to check on his wellbeing.

Norme initially aimed to surpass the previous record of 453 hours, but Guinness no longer officially recognizes such attempts due to the severe health risks involved. After being banned from YouTube and Kick due to the controversial nature of his stream, Norme continued his challenge on Rumble, where he ultimately succeeded.

The marathon was marked by interruptions, including a police welfare check that Norme described as “swatting,” and an ambulance visit to assess his condition due to rising health concerns. Despite these disruptions, Norme achieved his goal with 9,000 viewers watching live.

Having surpassed 264 hours of wakefulness, Norme ended his stream and plans to return to Twitch after taking time to recover. The previous record of 453 hours and 40 minutes, set by Robert McDonald, has remained unchallenged in official records since Guinness ceased monitoring such attempts in 1997 due to health risks. Unlike past record-holders, Norme’s attempt lacked medical supervision, raising significant concerns among viewers and officials.
