Starting the day at 158-4, Mohammad Rizwan (24) and Saud Shakeel (57) built a strong 142-run partnership before lunch.

Both batsmen reached centuries, with Shakeel scoring 115 from 224 balls and Rizwan making 119 off 172. The Bangladeshi bowlers struggled to break through their solid defense.
The hosts had a difficult start, losing Abdullah Shafique (2), Shan Masood (6), and Babar Azam (0) within the first 10 overs.
However, a crucial 98-run partnership between Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel stabilized the innings, with Saim making 56 off 98 balls. Saud and Rizwan then put Pakistan in a strong position by the end of the day.
For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud each took two wickets.
