The Islamabad administration has closed both internal and external routes in the city ahead of PTI’s Sangjani rally, and parts of the Metrobus service will be suspended on Sunday.
Security has been heightened, with increased police patrolling and major roads blocked by barricades and containers. Metrobus operations between the twin cities are halted from Sadar Station to Pak Secretariat to prevent incidents.

Police have ordered the closure of all hotels and shops near Sangjani and warned against providing support to rally participants, threatening legal action for violations.
Some PTI leaders were detained by Islamabad Police at the rally entrance, though the party continues to mobilize supporters from various regions. PTI members are urged to bring their own convoys rather than assembling directly in the capital.
PTI has criticized the government’s actions as a sign of fear and remains confident that their rally will proceed as planned despite the security measures.
