Canadian singer Justin Bieber is facing backlash for wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh after previously showing support for Israel. He was seen leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles over the weekend with the keffiyeh wrapped around his head.
The keffiyeh is widely recognized as a symbol of Palestinian solidarity and resistance, especially during pro-Palestine demonstrations amid escalating calls for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Bieber’s choice of attire has drawn criticism, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict that has resulted in the deaths of at least 41,870 Palestinians and injuries to over 97,166 others.
Many social media users have condemned Bieber for earlier posts in support of Israel. One commenter recalled when he posted “praying for Israel” alongside images of Gaza’s destruction, later deleting the post and reposting without the graphic image.
Some users argued that wearing the keffiyeh might be merely a fashion choice rather than a genuine display of solidarity with Palestine, while others questioned his awareness of its significance.
“After that ‘pray for Israel’ post, he needs to do a lot more than just wear a keffiyeh to make amends,” one user commented. Another stated, “Don’t be delusional; he has never voiced support for Palestine and is likely unaware of the implications.”
German tabloid Bild also weighed in, questioning Bieber’s understanding of the keffiyeh’s symbolism and labeling it a sign of anti-Semitism.
