Pakistan’s top weightlifter, Nooh Dastgir Butt, made a remarkable entry into powerlifting by winning the Commonwealth Champion title in the 120kg category at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship.
In his debut competition, Butt secured three gold medals and one bronze, lifting a total of 860kg in the open category to claim the championship title.
He excelled in individual events as well, achieving a gold medal with a 370kg squat and another gold with a 210kg bench press. Additionally, he earned a bronze medal in the deadlift with a lift of 280kg.
This transition to powerlifting represents a significant milestone for Butt, who previously earned multiple medals in weightlifting.
After leaving the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, he focused on powerlifting, quickly establishing himself and bringing international recognition to Pakistan.
