Pakistan, China Firms Sign Deals Worth $40 Million

At the fifth International Textile and Leather Exhibition (Texpo 2024) in Karachi, Hunan Dongxin Textiles Ltd, a Chinese firm, and Pakistan’s Keywin Trading Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreements worth $40 million. This deal, signed on Thursday, aims to foster cooperation in the textile sector for one year.

Keywin Trading Ltd’s General Manager of China Operations, Sajjad Mazahir, noted that the agreements were established with Pakistani suppliers Mahmood Textile Mills and Gadoon Textile Mills. These partnerships are expected to bolster Pakistan’s textile exports and strengthen its ties with Chinese firms in the sector.

Texpo 2024, held from October 23-25 and organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), brought together over 250 companies representing Pakistan’s diversity in textiles, including denim, home textiles, knitwear, and leather. More than 600 foreign guests participated in the event, with 30 Chinese guests attending. Wang Jun of Hunan Dongxin expressed his appreciation for the event and the quality of products showcased at the exhibition, praising the efforts of the Pakistani government and TDAP for facilitating their visit. This collaboration reflects a significant step towards promoting Pakistan’s textile industry on the global stage.
