Pakistan Secures Historic Home Test Victory After 44 Months

Pakistan has broken a 44-month winless streak by securing a thrilling 2-1 Test series victory against England, clinching the final match with a nine-wicket win in Rawalpindi.

In this decisive Test, Pakistan successfully chased a modest target of 36 runs with one wicket remaining, thanks to the exceptional performance of spinners Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali. England struggled in their second innings, managing only 112 runs, as Pakistan’s spin duo dominated the batting lineup.

Sajid Khan took six wickets in the first innings and finished with a remarkable 10-wicket haul, while Nauman Ali added nine wickets, including six in England’s second innings. Despite Joe Root’s contribution of 33 runs and Harry Brook’s 26 runs, the rest of the team faltered, with captain Ben Stokes scoring just three runs.

Notably, Pakistan’s victory was achieved solely through spin bowling, a strategy that proved successful as no overs were bowled by fast bowlers. This historic win marks Pakistan’s first home Test series victory since early 2020, injecting fresh momentum into the team’s performance at home.
