School Clerk Loses Rs. 23 Lac in Student Fees to Betting on Popular App '1X Bet'

In Balochistan’s Zhob district, a clerk at the Government Model Higher Secondary School reportedly lost a significant amount of money from the exam registration fees of ninth and tenth-grade students due to online gambling.

The school’s principal, Wazir Khan, confirmed that the clerk was responsible for safeguarding PKR 2.314 million collected from 878 students for their examination fees.

However, when asked to deposit the fees, the clerk disclosed that he had lost the money gambling online on the platform “1X Bet.”

The principal noted that the deadline to submit the fees to the Balochistan Board was October 30, and failing to meet this deadline could jeopardize the students’ exam registrations.

Following the revelation of the incident, authorities arrested the clerk, Shehzad Jamal, and filed charges against him.
