A newborn baby girl, declared dead by doctors at Aga Khan Hospital in Hyderabad, was discovered alive at home. Mohammad Rafiq, the baby’s father, said she was born three days prior and had been under medical care. The hospital initially pronounced her dead, issuing a death certificate to the family.

However, while preparing for the burial, Rafiq noticed movement in the baby’s body. He immediately rushed her back to the hospital, where doctors confirmed she was alive and stable. The family is now calling for action against the doctors responsible for this error.
This incident echoes a similar case from August, when a man who had been shot was also mistakenly declared dead. Such cases have sparked serious concerns over medical practices and the standards of patient care in Pakistan.
