Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed the Gaza ceasefire until Hamas provides a list of captives set for release. Initially scheduled to begin at 8:30 am (06:30 GMT), the ceasefire’s implementation is now contingent upon Hamas delivering the names of hostages as pledged.

Hamas cited “technical field reasons” for the delay but affirmed its commitment to the truce, which includes releasing 33 captives in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners during a 42-day agreement.
The deal also allows some displaced Palestinians to return home, with humanitarian aid expected to increase. Negotiations for a permanent ceasefire are planned in two weeks, though uncertainties remain about the conflict’s long-term resolution.
