Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a major initiative aimed at empowering Pakistan’s youth and revolutionizing the agricultural sector by sending 300 agricultural graduates to China for specialized training in modern farming practices.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, the prime minister said these students were selected from a pool of 1,000 graduates through a merit-based process, with representation from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. The training program, he noted, is part of a broader effort to harness the potential of young Pakistanis and drive national development.

“These students will return with modern expertise and help transform our rural communities,” PM Shehbaz said. He emphasized the importance of youth in rebuilding Pakistan’s economy and announced government plans to support graduates in launching agri-entrepreneurial ventures through subsidies and low-interest loans.
The prime minister expressed deep gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for agreeing to host the students and praised the technological advancements he observed during a recent visit to an agricultural university in Xi’s hometown.
Urging the selected students to learn from China’s successful agricultural model, PM Shehbaz reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting youth-led innovation and increasing Pakistan’s agricultural productivity and exports.
