Pakistan Destroys India’s $1.5 Billion S-400 System in ‘Operation Bunyaan ul Marsoos’

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Pakistan has successfully destroyed India’s S400 air defense system, valued at $1.5 billion, as part of its ongoing military operation “Bunyaan ul Marsoos.” Reports suggest that Pakistani JF-17 Thunder jets launched hypersonic missiles targeting the S400 system located in Adampur, India.

This attack follows earlier Pakistani missile strikes, including the launch of a Fatah-1 missile at India’s Udhampur Airbase, marking a sharp intensification of the standoff between the two nuclear-armed nations.

According to footage released by Pakistan’s military, the Fatah-1 missile, a tactical surface-to-surface guided missile, successfully struck critical Indian military targets, such as the airbase and a brigade command post. India, however, contends that it intercepted the missile and has minimized the damage.

Pakistani officials referred to the missile strikes as a “measured response” to Indian airstrikes on Pakistani military positions, asserting the need to demonstrate its resolve to defend its sovereignty.

In retaliation, Pakistan claims that India launched missile attacks on three of its airbases, including Nur Khan Airbase, though India has not confirmed these reports.

The crisis follows a deadly militant attack in Pahalgam, India, that resulted in the deaths of several Indian tourists. India blames Pakistan-based militants for the attack, while Pakistan denies involvement and accuses India of using it as a pretext for military escalation.
