On Thursday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) strongly condemned the “heinous and cowardly” terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, located in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
The Council’s 15-member press statement detailed that the attack caused the tragic deaths of at least six Pakistani nationals, including four schoolchildren, and left 53 others injured, 39 of whom were children.

They extended their deepest condolences to the families affected and the people and government of Pakistan, wishing a swift and full recovery for the wounded.
The UNSC emphasized that terrorism, in all its forms, poses a grave threat to international peace and security. They stressed the urgent need to hold accountable all individuals involved in terrorism, including perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors.
The Council urged all member states to actively cooperate with Pakistan’s government in combating terrorism. They reiterated that terrorist acts are criminal and unacceptable regardless of motive, location, or the identity of those responsible.
Finally, the UNSC reaffirmed the commitment of all nations to fight terrorism by all means necessary, consistent with the United Nations Charter and international laws, including human rights, refugee, and humanitarian laws, to protect global peace and security.
