Multiple explosions and aerial defence activity were reported across Tehran and other parts of Iran on Saturday, as Israeli military operations inside Iranian territory continued for a second wave. The strikes mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two arch-rivals.
Foreign media outlets, including Reuters and the BBC, reported that radar facilities in Tehran’s Vardavard district and Abdanan in the south were among the primary targets. Loud blasts and the activation of air defence systems were widely heard across Tehran, with emergency services dispatched to affected areas such as Hakimiyya and Mehrabad.

A major explosion near Mehrabad International Airport raised alarm, with plumes of smoke seen rising into the night sky. While social media buzzed with concerns over the nearby Azadi Tower, officials denied any damage to the national monument. In Isfahan, another blast was reported near a power station, suspected to be from a missile strike.
Though Iranian authorities confirmed the presence of โforeign aerial threats,โ they have yet to provide a full account of casualties or infrastructure damage. Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise as Iran vows to retaliate, and diplomatic efforts push for de-escalation amid fears of a broader regional conflict.
