Wahab Riaz Responds to Criticism Regarding Splashing Rainwater on Bikers

Wahab Riaz, a well-known fast bowler, has replied to social media criticism for irresponsibly pouring raindrops on motorcyclists while driving his SUV.

Wahab, who is currently the Punjab Interim Chief Minister’s adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs, apologised for his behaviour during the severe rains in Lahore.

A video that circulated on social media networks showed the player seated in a car, carelessly pouring rainfall on passing automobiles and motorcyclists on the flooded roadways.

“I’m sorry for what happened yesterday; it was completely unintentional and was misinterpreted in the worst possible way.” “Let us always strive to spread positivity,” Wahab added.

“There are always two sides of the coin, but unfortunately we always see the wrong one only. I’m sorry for what happened yesterday, it was purely unintentional and was misperceived in a very wrong way. Let’s try to spread positivity always and not malign this beautiful country of ours with negative propagandas. Stay blessed 🤗”

 

With almost 290mm of rain falling in a 10-hour period, the provincial capital received tremendous rainfall, surpassing a 30-year-old record.

This catastrophic weather event unfortunately took the lives of at least seven individuals, with over 200mm of rain falling in various regions of the city.

According to the most recent statistics from the Monsoon Control Room at the WASA Head Office in Lahore, Lakshmi Chowk has received 291mm of rain so far.

Following the severe rain, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his cabinet colleagues visited various sections of the city to examine the situation.
