The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has stopped two separate incidents of people trying to travel abroad using fake documents. Officials confirmed that FIA foils forged travel attempts to Hong Kong, Romania during routine checks at airports.
In the first case, a man was caught at Lahore airport while attempting to travel to Hong Kong. He presented a forged passport that was quickly identified by immigration staff. The passenger was immediately taken into custody for further questioning.
In another case, an individual attempting to travel to Romania was stopped at Islamabad airport. The suspect tried to use fake travel documents, but the forgery was detected during verification. The person was also arrested and handed over to the FIAβs anti-human trafficking cell.
Authorities stated that FIA foils forged travel attempts to Hong Kong, Romania regularly as part of its efforts to stop illegal immigration. The agency has increased surveillance at airports after a rise in such cases.
